Bruce has been with Hewlett Packard for over 32 years serving in many leadership positions including division
quality manager, manufacturing engineering manager, quality program manager, marketing program manager,
and process engineer. With over 20 years of quality management experience, Bruce has provided leadership
to several organizations in developing their business improvement and quality systems. He has broad
experience in quality practices including managing customer feedback / surveys, strategic planning, process
management and improvement, project management / facilitation, change management, and quality training.
Bruce participated in the development of HP’s internal Business Leadership Review process and was a certified
lead reviewer. He was one of the first to use Hoshin / Policy Deployment strategic planning methods from Japan
within HP and led the Support Materials Organization within HP Services to win the President’s Quality Award in
1988 (internal HP award).
Bruce began his career with Hewlett Packard in 1977 after graduating from California State University, San Luis
Obispo (Cal Poly) with a BS in Engineering Technology. Bruce also has completed course work toward a MBA
and has completed several advanced leadership and quality management courses within HP.
Bruce and his wife Carol reside in Rocklin, California near Sacramento with their two children. His son is in a
PhD program at George Washington University and his daughter is a graduate of the University of California,
San Diego. Outside of HP, Bruce has been involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Rocklin and participated in
improvement projects within the Rocklin Unified School District. He also was a founding member of the
Sacramento Deming Users Group and a member of the Sacramento Area Council for Total Quality (SACTQ).
His hobbies include sailing, snow skiing, volleyball, and playing bass guitar in a rock band.
As a member of the Technology Solutions Group – Total Customer
Experience and Quality organization within Hewlett Packard, Bruce is
responsible for deploying the Lean Sigma program across the
Technology Solutions Group (TSG). In this role, Bruce provides
consulting, program management, training and mentoring to leadership
and improvement teams across the organization. Currently he is
managing and delivering the TSG/IPG Black Belt 16 day workshop,
teaching the 3 day Green Belt workshop, and mentoring Black Belts
and Green Belts. Bruce has also provided support to TSG
organizations on several improvement projects and conducting
Leading Business Improvement (Quality as a Business Strategy)
consulting engagements with TSG managers. Prior to supporting
TSG, he provided improvement support to Customer Solutions Group
Marketing, HP Financial Services, and the Enterprise Solutions Group
(ESG) warranty council assisting with strategic planning, project
selection and chartering, project facilitation, and program
management.
