Louie joined Hallmark Building Supplies, Inc. in early
1982 and has held positions of Sales, VP of Sales and
Marketing, Executive VP, Chief Operating Officer,
Director of Organizational Development and most
recently Director of Human Resources. In addition to
providing support within the Hallmark system for the use
of Quality as a Business Strategy and related tools,
Louie was instrumental in the coordination of regular
meetings between key Hallmark customers and Cliff
Norman from 1998 to 2006 (Partner Resource Council).
This nearly 8 year exposure to QBS, Dr. Deming's
System of Profound Knowledge and the 5 activities
continue to influence the companies that participated.

Born in 1953 and raised on a dairy farm in
southwestern Wisconsin, he earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in Industrial Education from University
of Wisconsin, Platteville and a Masters of Science
degree in Organizational Leadership and Quality from
Marian University, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. His
professional career started in education, teaching at
the high school level for 3 years and then a 3 year stint
in the retail building materials business prior to joining
Hallmark. Married to his wife Jane, they have one
daughter and 2 grand daughters. His hobbies include
woodworking, outdoor activities of many kinds, is a
Hospice volunteer, a member of Optimist International,
interested in American history and a Wisconsin
Forward Award Examiner for 2009.
