Southwest Quality Network 2009
This year's SWQN was held as scheduled this past October. There
were over 30 participants in attendance from throughout the U.S. All of
the agenda items were covered and presentations have been posted
on the SWQN web site. For a small fee, an annual subscription to this
material is available to the public.
At the pre-conference workshop, Dr. Maccoby shared his ideas and
experiences regarding leadership, and managing change. The
participants completed Dr. Maccoby's personality assessment tool to
gain some personal insight about themselves as leaders, and how
they can become more effective.
The SWQN is a forum where everybody learns and everybody teaches.
First-time participant, Richard Margolies, Ph.D,, characterized it best
when he said: "This is not a typical conference. It is a group of
practitioners who have known each other and worked together for
years. It is a collaborative group who want to learn together. A living
example of a learning organization or community."
Next year, it is under consideration to hold several smaller SWQN
meetings virtually and perhaps conduct the annual meeting virtually,
as well. Check the SWQN section on the PKP web site and look to
future newsletters for updates regarding these possibilities.
